Meditation Course
A grounded, nervous‑system‑informed journey into presence, inner stillness, and embodied awareness.
Meditation is not about escaping the mind or striving for silence. It is a gentle, attuned process of returning to yourself, to your breath, your body, your emotional landscape, and the deeper intelligence that lives beneath the surface.
This course offers a grounded, embodied approach to meditation that supports emotional regulation, nervous‑system balance, energetic coherence, and inner clarity. Through written teachings, 1–2 hour video lessons, and guided meditation practices, you are invited into a deeper relationship with presence, awareness, and your own inner rhythm.
Each lesson is taught by Kate Spreckley and Matt Choate, who share the insights, wisdom, and lived understanding they have gained through their own meditation journeys. Every video ends with a guided meditation practice, allowing you to integrate the teachings directly into your body and experience.
This is meditation taught in a way that is accessible, embodied, and deeply supportive, whether you are beginning your practice or seeking a more grounded, multidimensional approach.
A Different Approach to Meditation
This is not traditional mindfulness. It is not about “emptying your mind” or striving for a perfect state.
This course teaches meditation as:
- a nervous‑system practice
- a grounding practice
- an energetic alignment practice
- an emotional regulation practice
- a pathway into presence and inner truth
You learn to work with your system, not against it — creating a practice that is sustainable, supportive, and deeply nourishing.

“Meditation is a process of lightening up, of trusting the basic goodness of what we have and who we are, and of realizing that any wisdom that exists, exists in what we already have. We can lead our life so as to become more awake to who we are and what we’re doing rather than trying to improve or change or get rid of who we are or what we’re doing. The key is to wake up, to become more alert, more inquisitive and curious about ourselves.”

Matt Choate
Matt came to yoga and meditation to help combat a chronic disease diagnosis and the physical ramifications of that in 2015. Matt. began his journey in yogic forms of meditation which grew to include many Buddhist (especially Zen) teachings and practices – culminating in teaching certifications for both yoga and meditation. However, it wasn’t until his work with Dr. Scott Lyons and the Embodied Lab, that the full impact of coming home to oneself, to one’s body, landed for them. Matt. helps to hold an all-inclusive space, safe for all bodies – irrespective of gender-identity, body shape, physical ability, or skin color. He offers an accessible teaching practice that celebrates the traditions from which it originates but empowers students to explore for themselves – finding what works for them, in their own bodies.
